Jubilate Chorale at Breakers
Jubilate Chorale of Southeastern Massachusetts, formed in 1977, is comprised of over 65 members from Southeastern Massachusetts.

The mission of the Chorale is to promote the performance and enjoyment of choral music, to provide growth and enrichment to participating singers, and to encourage youthful choristers to continue the development of musical skills throughout their adult lives.

Under the direction of Dr. Maxine M. Asselin for more than 25 years, Jubilate Chorale maintains two important vocal development programs: the Mary H. Wilcox Stipend Competition and the Jubilate Chorale Music Enhancement Program

• Mary H. Wilcox Stipend Competition. A monetary stipend is awarded annually to the winner of Jubilate Chorale’s vocal competition held for undergraduate music students. The winner also performs two solos at one of Jubilate Chorale’s two major seasonal concerts.

• Jubilate Chorale Music Enhancement Program. Dr. Maxine M. Asselin, music director and conductor of Jubilate Chorale, developed this program for high school juniors and seniors with demonstrated vocal talent. This 26-week after school/evening program runs over two seasons providing talented youth singers the opportunity for one-on-one coaching with the conductor, rehearsals with Jubilate Chorale, and a Chorale member mentor, all at no cost to the student The program culminates with students singing in Jubilate Chorale’s two major seasonal concerts.

Jubilate Chorale performs two major seasonal concerts: the winter concert is performed in December and the spring concert is in May. The Chorale has also established a concert series using the mixed and men’s ensembles.

Jubilate Chorale and its small ensembles are available to provide music for your venue and/or event. See the listing of Community Performances and Events plus Concert Tours. For more information, contact us.
